Vestal Students Shine with Outstanding Biliteracy Achievements

Vestal CSD is excited to announce that this year twenty VMS 8th graders earned the Jr. Seal of Biliteracy in seven languages, including four students earning it in three languages each! One of our HS Seal of Biliteracy recipients this year, Amir Yakupov, served as a Russian panelist for Eran Saitov's presentation. In addition to this wonderful news, a total of thirty-four elementary students (24 from ARE and 10 from VHE) earned their Jr. Seal of Biliteracy and fifty-five high school students earned their Seal of Biliteracy!
The Seal of Biliteracy is a statewide honor that students earn by demonstrating a high level of proficiency in one or more languages other than English and is marked by a gold seal on the students' diplomas.
Our district is incredibly proud of these hardworking, multilingual students. They've demonstrated a strong commitment to language learning. Congratulations to all on such an impressive achievement!
