Celebrating Our Practices: Promoting Deep and Authentic Education
Hosted by the Vestal Central School District
The Vestal Central School District invites regional teachers, educational leaders, and members of our local higher education community—including undergraduate students, graduate students, and professors—to submit proposals for our upcoming professional conference.
We are looking for sessions that showcase how educators are fostering "Deep and Authentic Education."
Conference Details
Date: March 13, 2026
Time: 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM
Location: Vestal High School, 201 Main Street, Vestal, NY 13850
Presenter Perk: Accepted presenters are invited to attend other conference sessions free of charge. This is also a great résumé builder for up-and-coming educators and leaders!
Session Formats
We are seeking proposals for two session lengths:
Standard Workshop (1 Hour): Focused, interactive sessions on specific strategies or research.
Double Session (2 Hours): In-depth explorations or hands-on collaborative workshops.
Focus Areas for Proposals
All proposals must explicitly align with one or more of the five focus areas from the Vestal Central School District Strategic Plan:
1. Critical Thinking: Fostering the ability of students to question, analyze, and synthesize information across all content areas.
2. Communication: Providing opportunities for students to understand, interpret, and express ideas meaningfully to their community and the wider world. This includes all forms of literacy!
3. Social/Emotional Learning & Mental Wellness: Implementing strategies that help students regulate emotions, develop positive social relationships, and prioritize mental wellness.
4. 5. Student Engagement with Community Connection: Promoting engagement through ambitious academics, leadership, extracurricular activities, and service learning.
Artificial Intelligence Literacy & Ethical Use: Preparing staff and students to thoughtfully, responsibly, and ethically engage with AI as a tool for learning and innovation.
