We love seeing our alumni thrive! Kathy Heenan Perconti, Vestal CSD Class of 1980, has assumed the role of president of the nation’s largest state association for music education, NYSSMA, the New York State School Music Association. 

Mrs. Perconti has most recently served a two-year term as president-elect, overseeing the scheduling and management of NYSSMA’s annual All State / Winter Conference held in Rochester. She is the choral director and music department chairperson at Wayne Central High School, and adjunct faculty at Finger Lakes Community College. 

Mrs. Perconti took time out of her busy schedule to tell us about her journey from being a student at Vestal High School to becoming President of NYSSMA, with some great memories along the way!
