A big Golden Bear congratulations going out to our middle school mathletes! Vestal's two teams earned 1st and 2nd place in the Mathalon competition this past Saturday, December 7th, competing against other schools in the area. According to the BAE Systems speaker of the competition, there has not been a tie for the 1st place individual in its 20 years of competition.

This year, three students tied for the 1st place individual award with a perfect score, all from Vestal's Green Team. As per tiebreaking rules, Angela Ma was awarded 1st place, with Bojun Zhang and Allison Qiang being awarded Honorable Mentions.

1st Place: Vestal Team Green: Angela Ma, Allison Qiang, Elina Jiang, Bojun Zhang, Katherine Lu, Afaan Ali, and Soha Hassan

2nd Place: Vestal Team Gold: Wilson Lin, Naitik Bhagat, Sarisha Singhal, Gurjot Singh, Chris Cheng, Maya Smith, and Rohan Ravetkar
